Audius, a music streaming service, announced a partnership with the most popular video-sharing app TikTok. On Monday, it allowed users to upload their music on TikTok and used it in videos. Now Audius users can upload song tracks and share them to TikTok in seconds.
Audius is the first streaming platform to allow direct sharing to TikTok, in a small takeover for a music platform that recently crossed the 5-millions. This feature includes artists on Audius making their song tracks available for TikTok users to add their videos. Artists will also be able to connect their following accounts on TikTok back into Audius.
An Audius spokesperson told CoinDesk that the platform founders Roneil Rumburg and Forrest Browning are close with a few folks at TikTok and leaned on those prior friendships as they went about partnering with the buzzy social platform. Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer Forrest Browning told Rolling stone that any artist can take a song they already have on Audius and share it over to TikTok in one click. A common way unauthorized artists get their stuff up there right now is by holding their phone while it plays their song and adds it as background music.
Browning said that we are proud to be one of the prior launch partners for TikTok Sounds. Audius increases exposure to TikTok even more. Audius is one of the large patrons blockchain applications by some metrics founded in 2018. The platform is a big talk vaunt of thousands of musicians like Skrillex, Diplo, and Odesza. Many new artists on the program may gain more fame through the TikTok partnership.
In July, Audius announced a partnership with the Solana Creator Fund to attract new artists to its platform. Rumburg stated that their efforts with Solana to support creators break into the space. The combination with TikTok increases the potential creators who can discover Web 3 and crypto more broadly.
Like TikTok, Audius does not currently offer a stipend to their users but gives a platform to engage with fans and find listeners. TikTok, which has more than a billion monthly users, reported that 75% of its U.S. users find new artists via TikTok videos.
