Many new gadgets have been introduced in the markets that use AI technology to spot the tumors in the body of humans. Recently, a new helmet technology is introduced that can treat these tumors. Scientists have used the magnetic field in the helmet to shrink cancer by one-third. However, the 53-year-old patient who went under treatment passed away due to an unexpected injury. But the autopsy of his brain has shown unimagined results. In a short period, 33% of the tumor mass was removed due to the new technology.
The test shows positive results against the deadliest type of brain cancer known as Glioblastoma. The helmet has three rotating magnets and a microprocessor operated by a rechargeable battery. The patient had worn the helmet for five weeks at a clinic for process and then at home by getting help from his wife.
The therapy lasts for 2 hours, and at that time, the mass of the tumor has to shrink one-third of its total mass. The device will treat brain cancer without using radiation and chemotherapy, claims the developer of the device. That gadget has also received approval for treatment from FDA.
David S. Baskin said that “the results shown by our device have many possibilities and opportunities for the future.” Frontiers of Oncology journal have published the whole process of the helmet for the treatment of brain tumors.
