Dead Space Remake: The critically acclaimed Sci-Fi horror returns from the dead.

Last week, Electronic Arts revealed a short teaser trailer for the Remake of 2008’s Dead Space.

When the original dead space was released back in 2008, it took the fans of Sci-Fi horror by storm. The atmosphere that Dead Space created for the players through its level design and sound design was unheard of at the time. It was a huge success for EA, both financially and critically. EA went on to make two more games in the series, with the last one releasing way back in 2013.

Eight years on from Dead Space’s final appearance, EA has brought the franchise back. In last week’s EA play event, EA revealed that its developer “Motive Studios” will be remaking the original game from the ground up. The reveal did not come as a surprise to the viewers as there were already rumors floating about on the internet about the remake being in development.

Even though the reveal was a very short teaser, new details about the game were revealed soon after the event ended. In an exclusive interview with IGN, senior producer Philippe Ducharme and creative director Roman Campos-Oriola shared some tiny details on what the fans can expect from the remake. And how the team at Motive will harness the power of next-gen consoles and new PCs to make the experience a lot more immersive.

The dead space remake will not just be a refined version of the original game. Several Assets from the original game are being made from the ground up by utilizing EA’s frostbite engine. Some things never made it to the original game due to the limitations of the hardware at the time. All those things will be present in the remake as well. The new faster SSDs of the next-gen consoles will mean that there will be no interruption from loading screens.

Creative Director Campos Oriola explained that “there’s not going to be any loading. There’s not going to be any moment where we’re going to cut your experience, where we’re going to cut your camera”

It’s not just the faster SSD’s. Think about the 3D audio capabilities of the PS5. The possibilities are endless. The Dead Space remake has so much potential to be a breathtaking horror experience. The developers also ensured that there would not be any microtransactions in the game. And that coming from EA is already a step in the right direction.

The Dead Space Remake will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. And since the game is still in the early stages of development, the developers have not yet given us a release date.
