Elon Musk, the co-founder of Neuralink, revealed in an interview with Joe Rogan more details about the Neuralink brain implant device which is being manufactured primarily to help people with paralysis. The multi-billionaire entrepreneur also made comments about how the human language may become obsolete in 5 to 10 years, suggesting that human beings won’t have to use or communicate through traditional languages anymore. This chip, which will soon be able to attach to the human brain, is aimed at making communication faster and more convenient. Elon Musk believes that, through a single universal language, the way we talk today will improve significantly. The Neuralink brain chip is expected to be developed within a few years, evolving the way of communication along its course.
Elon Musk also added that the progress of the brain chip is on track, however, the focus is only on their current objective right now which is to help people minimize and prevent brain injuries. The brain chip’s power was already on display in a 2019 video by Neuralink. In this video, which was published on the YouTube channel Monkey MindPong, a monkey with an active Neuralink chip on its brain was shown playing a video game that is similar to a table tennis match. This astounding display or show of the monkey’s brain reaction towards the game due to the chip left experts awestruck.
Also, in a report by Reuters, Elon Musk said that the Neuralink chip will act like a Fitbit in the skull. The chip that the CEO presented was as tiny as a penny, with threads connected to conductors which will be implanted into the brain. The installation procedure of the brain chip is pretty simple. Furthermore, Neuralink claims that the thread of the brain chips is very delicate and can’t be installed by a human hand to the brain. Hence, Elon Musk’s company is also developing a machine that could implant the brain chip perfectly and fuse it with the organic human tissue. This brain chip is expected to provide neurological solutions to conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, spinal cord problems, and even dementia. The Neuralink chip is set to be one of the beneficial inventions of this century.
