Minecraft’s Upcoming Caves and Cliffs Update to Bring Promising Changes to the Game.

Here are some of the updates keeping players on the edge of their gaming chairs

Minecraft has had a long-awaited update for quite some time now, the 1.17 Caves and Cliffs update. After the positive reviews from their previous nether update, players are looking at the upcoming changes with anticipation. There are many new features to be excited about, such as new creatures, settings, and materials for crafting.

This update had been announced at the Minecraft Live 2020 on October 3rd to much excitement. The expected arrival of the update lingers in between the spring or summer of 2021. There have been many hints towards what to expect as well, which we hope to dive right into today.

For the more creative minds in the Minecraft universe, there is the revelation of SculkSensors. These new blocks remove the need to create long-wired systems of Redstone when creating automatic operations. SculkSensors respond to vibrations, which are created by the movement of items. This can create something of a wireless, cleaner Redstone system.

There are also new creatures, biomes, and caves to look forward to as well, and with a larger world height limit and minimum depth, there is so much more to discover.

Some new creatures are harmless, like the glow squids to be introduced. You can harvest these creatures for glowing ink sacs to create luminescent signs and frames. Other creatures can show a little aggression, such as the axolotls from the updated lush caves and goats up in the mountains. They have their unique traits as well, with axolotls able to play dead to regenerate and coming in five different colors; pink, brown, gold, cyan, and blue. You can even place axolotls in a bucket to carry them with you.

Goats can headbutt both mobs and players when you are still for longer than 10 seconds. They can jump as high as five blocks and drop a maximum of two horns if they ram into them. You can breed them together with wheat, and milk them the same as cows. If the need arises, they drop 0-2 pieces of mutton for you to enjoy over a warm furnace.

Another exciting creature to come out of the update is an enemy known as the Warden. They are found exclusively in the deep dark. They are the largest creatures and quite dangerous, with the ability to one-shot players, so it’s best to catch glances of them from safe distances.

Of course, these creatures could never be found without the stimulating atmospheric updates to the game. New areas to look forward to are biomes, mountains, and caves. The new biomes include the deep dark, dripstone, and lush caves.

The mountains have a large variety of sub-biomes; lofty peaks, snow-capped peaks, snowy slopes, mountain groves, and mountain meadows all with different materials to find amongst the world.

Then there are the caves. There are noise caves that come in two varieties; the cheese caves which are majorly caverns, and the spaghetti caves which are longer swirled and swiveled tunnels. Aquifers are areas where bodies of water are found, which do not connect to the ocean. Mesh caves have the thinnest corridors. With all of the new places and creatures to meet, Majong has no intention of losing its player’s interest. Soon, there will be much more to do and discover in the game, along with everything else they have already created within the elaborate world of Minecraft.
