WhatsApp has been introducing new updates back-to-back for quite some time now. Recently, there were smaller updates such as the introduction of new sticker packs and now the ability to create your own animated stickers.
But bigger updates are now streaming in, related to making both the mobile and desktop versions of WhatsApp user friendly. On April 5th, WABetaInfo tweeted that an upcoming update to look forward to was coming. This update would allow migration of chat history between iOS and Android.
This newer update of their app short cut keys and desktop cheat codes was released on April 7th, announced in a tweet from WhatsApp captioned: “Final boss mode: UNLOCKED!”
The actual short cut keys will be based on the user’s operating system and the type of application they are using. As displayed in the recent tweet, there is a different set of short cut keys for Mac Desktop App, Mac Browser, Windows Desktop App, and Windows Browser.
The cheat codes which you can initiate are now as listed below:
- Mark chats as unread
- Archive chats
- Pin or unpin chats
- Search within chats
- Create new chat
- Open settings
- Mute chats
- Delete chats
- Search within chat lists
- Create new groups
- Open your profile
- Return space
The keys for these shortcuts will vary based on the operating device you are using, as well as the interface.
One of the latest updates that was announced on 9th April also relates to the desktop version of WhatsApp. You can now make both voice and video call directly through the WhatsApp desktop app. This announcement was made by WABetaInfo on the 9th of April, an update which they have allegedly been working on for over two years.
With all of the updates lining up for users, there will soon be very little that WhatsApp can’t provide. It’s ensuring it’s position as one of the most widely used messaging platforms today, keeping the throne in the social media world and making it easier for user to communicate with one another.
