Codebase of Among Us 1 is so outdated and not built to support adding so much new content. However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level. We have decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead put all our focus Small bean-people seem to have been the theme of attraction throughout 2020’s quarantine, with games such as Fall Guys and Among Us taking flight when people needed them most. Among Us is a game that has been around since 2018, released officially on June 15th. It’s an online multiplayer game in which tasks, survival, and slight deception are all in good fun.
Among Us, though it wouldn’t be considered new, seriously erupted during the summer of 2020, when streamers began to play this game in play-throughs. September was the true revelation of Among Us’ popularity when its download count sky-rocketed. It can be played on PC, Mac, tablets, and phones with paid and free versions.
Since then, it has been in the spotlight as a social game everyone enjoys, even political figures such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have been seen streaming their adventures through the vents. The only question now is; what’s next for PuffballsUnited great success?
The creators of this petite game never expected it to gain so much popularity on such short notice, so catching up to the weight load wasn’t easy. InnerSloth even had to announce the cancellation of the second game with all the interest hyped around the first one. Instead, the game-plan changed into improving the first one with everything the second was to be built on.
A message from InnerSloth indulges this further: Us devs have had several long discussions about what we want to do with the game. When do we stop working on Among Us 1? What content goes into Among Us 2? The main reason we are shooting for a sequel is that the into improving Among Us 1. All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1. This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we’re excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing!”
A couple of newer features to expect from the game are improvements to the server to ensure fewer to no more crashes; a greater variety of colors and colorblind support; a friends or account system to prevent hackers and cheaters and allow for communication with other players; and finally, new maps such as the airship map. This map has brand new tasks, ladders, moving platforms, and three different spawn areas to choose from after meetings are concluded. Among Us, though it isn’t the same rave as it was in quarantine, is still a fun interactive game to group up and enjoy with friends. With the new improvements, it intends on being even more challenging, exciting, and enjoyable for players.
