The launch of incubators for technology startups by PITB(Punjab Information Technology Board) was initiated on Monday – this is being known as the Regional “Plan9”. The board said in a statement that it would be launching 9 incubation centers in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faislabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Sargodha, and Sahiwal. Out of all these incubation centers, the ones in Lahore, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha will be functioning from April.
The statement by the board further added that the regional plan has the goal to create a mindset that promotes technological innovation and entrepreneurship. These selected startups, according to the PITB, will be provided several services, including free office space, monthly stipends, networking opportunities, mentoring, and training.
The selection process will be carried out by Regional Plan through a “Launchpad”. This shall have eligibility criteria and a meritocratic process.
This project is targeting, supporting, and sustaining the technology startups to transform their idea into functional products or services. It also shows the outcome of the Government of Punjab’s commitment to promote business endeavors and motivate people to grow in the startup space.
The Regional Plan9 will be offering a large variety of networking opportunities and workshops. It is also offering a whole host of opportunities directed towards facilitating its aspiring entrepreneurs to be a part of the program.
Interested startups are suggested by the board to apply and take the chance to be incubated at Regional Plan9.
