Oneplus 9 Pro Pro Key Specifications Teased Ahead Of Launch

OnePlus announced the date for the global launch of its 9 series which is being scheduled for March 23

Earlier this week, OnePlus announced the date for the global launch of its 9 series which is being scheduled for March 23. This flagship lineup for the 9 series is expected to include three models, that is, the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, and 9E. After the announcement, OnePlus made its partnership with Hasselblad official as well as releasing the first official teaser for the OnePlus 9 Pro on Twitter.

Now, some specifications of the 9 Pro model regarding the camera have already surfaced online. The OnePlus 9 Pro is said to have a 16MP Sony IMX471 front camera for selfies and a quad-camera setup at the back which will have a 48MP Sony IMX789 Hasselblad primary sensor paired with a fixed focus camera, an 8MP OmniVision telephoto lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.

The leak does not reveal a lot about other specifications but it is rumored that the smartphones, both 9 and 9 Pro, will come with Snapdragon 888 SoC, 5G connectivity, 65W fast charging support, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The only difference between the two phones, apart from the camera, is that the OnePlus 9 will be 6.55” whereas the 9 Pro will be 6.7”. Other than this, both devices will run Android 11 with OxygenOs on top.

Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus, has also confirmed that the company’s upcoming phones will ship with a charger in the box (which is a surprise and a relief in this day and age!). Also, OnePlus has inked a three-year partnership with Hasselblad to “co-develop the next generation of smartphone camera systems” for the upcoming OnePlus series. This is as far as we know right now about OnePlus and its 9 series, however, stay tuned for more information!
