The updated policy further tends to explain “Automatically Collected Information” which inculcates a vast diversity of information that WhatsApp collects from its users. Some examples of the collected information include the hardware model of your phone, operating system information, battery level, IP address, device operations information, etc.
Moreover, the policy states that Even if an individual doesn’t utilize the location-related features, they will use IP addresses and other information like phone number area codes to estimate the individual’s general location.
This however is only a minute portion of what type of data WhatsApp collects from its users, as revealed by the policy.
Although, all of this would have been acceptable if users could have the choice to either share their data or not, which had been the case with WhatsApp previously.
However, as per the recent notification sent by Facebook to everyone, people failing to agree with the terms of the new policy will lose access to their accounts.
