This is a direct contradiction as they earlier poked fun at Apple iPhone and now appear to be doing the same.
Lei Jun, the CEO of the phone company belonging in China informed everyone about their decision to not include charger brick in the box for the Xiaomi Mi 11 addition. He stated that on a social media platform for China called Weibo. “Concerns for Environment” was the reason stated for the respective decision by Lei Jun.
This decision seems contradictory to their earlier policy as Xiaomi during their Mi 10 Pro phone’s launch poked fun at Apple in their advertising campaign by staging how “nothing has been left out of the box”. Now it appears they are following the same strategy while the advertisement still remains on their official website.
Samsung had also taken part in making fun of Apple iPhone’s decision not including the charger brick in the box. They also made a jab by stating how they “are not leaving anything out of the box”. But with policy changes and announcing how the S21 series would not be including the charger in the box themselves, they decided to tactfully take down the ad.
Although it is beneficial for companies to become more environmentally aware and try and reduce plastic emission, with the increasing prices of new series of phones by top brands reducing the content in boxes would burden customers with more expenditure.
