A Treat for the SkyGazers!

Most of us are stuck at home stuck in a lazy routine where nothing new or exciting happens. It seems however that the cosmos has graced us Earthly beings with a fascinating spectacle. Jupiter and Saturn would be in conjunction this December!

This is termed the Great Conjunction which will not be happening again till 2080 and happened last time in 2000. So this sight might be a once in a lifetime opportunity for many of us!

Conjunctions happen when planets or stars appear close to each other from Earth. This only appears this way from Earth’s view due to the alignment of their orbits. This happens quite a lot with other stars but with planets such big as Jupiter and Saturn, the spectacle is quite exceptional and extraordinary. And not to forget that this is going to be perhaps the closest conjunction witnessed after the time-lapse of years, even decades.

This is quite the holiday treat! With the planets drawing closer and closer after each sunset till 21st of December when they would be visible to possibly everyone around the globe unless there is some cloudy or rainy condition in a specific area. The exciting news is that the conjunction can be viewed with the naked eye even without any sort of equipment such as a telescope available.

A bit of magic added by the cosmos to a year of despair. Be sure to cherish the moment with your loved ones!
