Concise and short to point videos is what makes TikTok, “TikTok”. However, the company is reportedly testing the feasibility of increasing its video length limit from one minute to three minutes.
Social media consultant Matt Navarra tweeted with an update saying that this idea is still in its early access stage. We have mixed up concerns regarding this since TikTok was originally famous for its short relatable stories of a size longer than vines but shorter than youtube videos.
Now with a maximum length of three minutes, TikTok creators will be able to fit in trailers, makeup tutorials, podcasts, and other ideas for which YouTube is originally famous.
Users were furious when Twitter changed its limit from 140 to 280 characters but after a while audience got used to it and the results were favorable, we can safely assume TikTok’s plan to do the same and broaden its content horizons.
