On its first day of the Snapdragon Tech Summit, Qualcomm released a teaser of Snapdragon 888, their latest 5-G equipped processor. On the second day of their summit, they announced all the details of a processor that will change the capabilities of all 2021 smartphones.
This new processor contains Kryo 680 CPU, which is the first-ever device to project Cortex-X1 core, Arms newest customized product, claiming 25% better performance than the previously used chip, providing a clock speed of 2.84 GHz at max. Moreover, graphic rendering will also fave a 35% jump due to companies latest 660 GPU.
What further elevates Snapdragon 888 over 865 is the fact that 888 comes with a 5G modem equipped directly within SoC.
Snapdragon 888 also contains Qualcomm’s 5nm X60 modem which provides a special skill set called carrier aggregation providing a boost to download speed of up to 7.5 Gbps. One more thing this processor supports is Wi-Fi 6 and 6Ghz Wifi 6E standard, both involved in boosting the rollout apparently by molding it as the default in the majority of their Androids.
Furthermore, the triple ISP found in this processor allows devices to stream three 4k HDR videos simultaneously and moreover can also take three 28 megapixel photos at a speed of 2.7 gigapixels per second at once.
