Dubai-based business ‘Lock&Stock’ launches in Pakistan to combat increasing digital addiction.
Lock&Stock is a Mobile application that aims to end “digital addiction” among students. According to the press release the company has kickstarted its operations in Pakistan.
The app began its operations and has enjoyed success in the UAE since 2017. Statistics from the company reveal that 50,000 students in UAE spent a total of 558 years offline due to the app.
It was stated by the CEO and Co-Founder of Lock&Stock Craig Fernandes that “Digital addiction among students is on the rise with especially 16-18-year-olds spending hundreds of hours glued to their smartphones. Our brand purpose is to improve the lives of students and we aim to fight digital addiction among students from around the world.”
The app is utilized to track the number of times students spend away from their cellphones, aiding them side by side by blocking their social media notifications.
Students can avail of discounts on food, leisure, and retail brands for every minute they lock their phones. Moreover, they can also secure scholarships and create leadership boards to compete with each other.
The app is available for free download from the Google Play Store and App Store.
